You’ll appreciate the big changes, like advances in the front and rear suspension systems, providing our most comfortable ride ever. Improved Volvo Dynamic Steering enhances the VNL’s legendary maneuverability. Volvo’s parking cooler keeps the sleeper amazingly quiet and comfortable during offduty hours.

And you’ll like the little things too, like repositioned seat controls and an adjustable top bunk that rotates for better head clearance. Every improvement was made with one purpose, to make a driver’s job a little easier. Life behind the wheel is simply better in a VNL.

As soon as you sit down and put your hands on the wheel, you’ll feel that seamless connection. Everything where you want it and how you need it. The instrument clusters are bright and easy to find. The displays are big and dynamic. Your most common functions are right there on the steering column.

Experience a suite of improvements that take truck driving to new places. Push-button ignition, key fobs to trigger approach lighting, improved pedal positions, a driver-side window pull-down sunshade, and an overall quieter cab. The seat, the wheel, the switches, even the cupholders are customizable. Decreased reaching and stretching reduces fatigue and improves the overall driving experience— because that’s how we designed it.

Smooth and stable ride

The industry’s most comfortable ride gets even better thanks to redesigned cab suspension and rear suspension systems, which keep the cab level and more vibration-resistant. The improvements continue with new engine and cab mounts, a new front leaf spring, and an improved stabilizer bar. Eight airbags and more upright shocks also work to counteract frame lift and chassis movement. The final result is less road impact on the driver and our smoothest, quietest ride ever.

Drivers deserve the best. That was our guiding principle in designing the living environment of the new VNL series. There are three distinct trim levels, each with an eye-catching design that complements the cabin’s innovative use of space. The sleeper area is quieter, more comfortable, and packed with amenities.

There’s plentiful storage that’s efficient and convenient. Smart design creates clear sight lines throughout the unit, creating a feeling of spaciousness. And whether it’s the reclining bunk, the plentiful USB and 120V plug options, upgraded insulation, or the surprisingly quiet Volvo Parking Cooler, the space is filled with features that drivers will love.

In another industry first, VNL models will now be available with the Volvo Parking Cooler, a fully integrated, battery-powered cooling system. It can run up to a full overnight without having to auto-start the engine for recharge, so there’s less noise and idling.

Whether it’s for pre-trip inspection or general maintenance, drivers love a truck that’s easy to work around. No heavy lifting, no brain teasers. Just simple operation that lets them quickly get back to logging miles. The VNL delivers in every way.

The electronic parking brake offers both auto-activate and auto-release functions. When the truck is out of gear and the door opens, a safety alarm sounds. If the driver still doesn’t set the brake, the auto-activate function will engage the parking brake. If the truck is placed in gear and the accelerator is pressed before the brake has been released, the auto-release function activates.

The chassis fairings are reliable and intuitive with a single, quick-release latch. It takes less effort to open and close the fairings for optimum access to the chassis. They’re also easier to securely fasten, reducing the chance of damage due to an unlocked fairing. We’ve optimized the fuel and DEF necks, bringing them closer together on the cab so they are easier to access during fill-ups.

Access has not been sacrificed for fuel efficiency. The back of the cab is much easier to work around thanks to the new foldable side fairing extender design and improved cable storage locations. Back of cab access and safety are improved with optional high-visibility grab handles and rigid steps.

Many pre-trip inspection steps can now be handled remotely or from inside the cab using the MyTruck app. This can dramatically decrease time spent walking around the vehicle in the elements.
