In an industry first, drivers of the next-generation VNL and VNR have remote access to their vehicle through the My Truck App. The innovative application allows the driver to optimize their workday, quickly and easily readying the vehicle for the route ahead.

Light status can be checked remotely, without having to enter the truck to select lights for pre-trip. The My Truck App also offers peace of mind with less time spent outside a truck parked in remote or unfamiliar areas, especially at night.

Introducing Volvo’s E-Call system

Volvo’s new E-Call feature is the first Class 8 system designed to make an automated call to an emergency services 911 operator if the truck has been in a rollover or had an airbag deployment. No driver initiation is required. It can automatically share that the event has occurred, along with location information, wherever cell coverage is available. The E-Call system comes standard in all VNL and VNR models.

The system matches with the closest public safety answering point and can provide a callback number to the cab for emergency services.

In addition to the automatic call after a rollover event or deployment of the airbags, you can also choose a manual SOS switch for driver use as well. The optional switch allows drivers to manually connect to 911 directly.

Remote Diagnostics
